When they get all the "why should I play this in VR" kind feedback all the time, though may know right now it's the right way, but when Valve comes out and push everything in the opposite direction, you can't just wait and keep the original plan. ![]() And by ROI it's not just mean profit, but also the feedback/response from the community. They poured A LOT of money in to content creation but you can say they definitely did not make a very good ROI on that and that's why they are diminishing their investment on the content front overall. If you watched how things developed all these years and see how oculus approach game design and ecosystem building you would know there's no exaggeration here. But no, consumers especially vivers only cares about novelties, more wave shooters! They are apparently all better than these sucker 3rd person view games that oculus poured millions into though they were made by some amateur dev with downloaded assets from unity stores like for 2 days, because roomscale and hands! We could have all the major big aaa games by now with their already established mechanism proved by edge of no where and luckeys tale and the like, so these big studios could implement the vr paradigm with minimal effort at first and then be lured into investing in VR more later, consumer could enjoy all the big budget beautiful virtual world that no only made for VR world could afford now. ![]()
